Windows Vista 32bit Problem

By Titus | June 18, 2008

Ok so I came home the other day from a trip and Windows Vista had been rebooting for days over and over again. There was a problem with the Stage 3 of 3 of windows update, wow! I actually have purchased XP to upgrade :) to the best version…Ok so anyways if you ever have this vista constant rebooting problem here is what I learned:

1. Try and get to a command prompt if you have problems use the Windows Vista CD and boot from it and you will be able to get to command prompt after going through the menus.

2. Go to c:/windows/winsxs/ on the hard drive where your windows vista is installed.

3. Type the following ren pending.xml pending.old

That should fix the problem. After you fix the problem backup your computer and switch to a Mac or Windows XP!

I hope this helps someone, it was a pain for me!
